A dairy venture backed by Malaysian investors has begun preparing land and installing infrastructure in Cambodia’s Pursat province, according to provincial governor Khoy Rida. He said the company was committing capital after reaching an agreement with provincial authorities.

Previous reports named the venture as Farm Fresh Pursat, a partnership between Malaysia’s Farm Fresh Group and local partners. They put the proposed investment at approximately US$68 million, spanning about 1,000 hectares in Veal Veng district. Plans include facilities for raising dairy cattle and processing milk, with the land lease signed on August 5, 2026.

Addressing journalists during a media tour, Rida said preparations were under way to receive cattle in the first two phases. He credited the government and Keo Rottanak, who leads its working group for Pursat, with helping the project advance. Preparatory activities were proceeding alongside formal procedures to accelerate implementation, he said.

The provincial administration is seeking more processing and higher-value manufacturing investment to reduce reliance on traditional agriculture. Rida also pointed to growing industrial activity in Krakor district, citing factories making products ranging from automotive components to garments.
