Indonesia’s Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara has urged the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) to help deliver investment growth of 7 per cent by 2027, with private businesses expected to drive most economic expansion.

Speaking at Kadin’s National Leadership Meeting in Jakarta, Nazara said the investment goal would help move the economy towards 6 per cent overall growth. He stressed the role of Kadin members as businesses that make those investments.

The State Budget represents approximately 15 per cent of national gross domestic product, he said. He described fiscal policy as a catalyst, supporting purchasing power, funding critical infrastructure and strengthening confidence in the market.

Nazara also pointed to state investment agency Danantara as a means of drawing in private capital and opening commercial opportunities, alongside conventional budget spending.

He said the government was focusing on sufficient liquidity, competitive financing costs and more consistent regulation to give investors greater certainty over their long-term operations.
