Indonesia has allocated one million tons of rice for assistance covering October–December 2026, Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan said. The distribution covers 33.2 million beneficiaries in deciles 1 to 4 and has been approved by President Prabowo Subianto.

The monthly entitlement is 10 kilograms per recipient, but beneficiaries will receive the full three-month amount together. Hasan gave details during a distribution event in East Java’s Kwagean Village, Nganjuk District, where 542 recipients received 16,260 kilograms of rice.

Langgeng Wisnu Adinugroho, East Java Bulog Regional Head, said his office was arranging adequate rice stocks and improving delivery channels across the province. He said the work covered supplies in warehouses through to delivery to eligible residents.

The government’s third phase of food assistance aims to keep households supplied with rice until the end of 2026 and is expected to reduce financial pressure as food prices fluctuate. At the event, Hasan also made symbolic aid handovers to orphans and online motorcycle taxi drivers.
