SkyWorld Development Bhd has expanded its sales presence in Penang, holding a soft opening for its SkyWorld Gallery @ Bandar Cassia in Batu Kawan. The company opened its first sales gallery in the state earlier in 2026, in Seberang Jaya.

For the Batu Kawan development, SkyWorld will adopt prefabricated prefinished volumetric construction (PPVC). Building modules will be manufactured under controlled factory conditions and transported for assembly at the site.

Chief executive officer Lee Chee Seng said the construction approach could deliver greater precision and consistency, alongside better workmanship and efficiency.

The expansion comes alongside SkyWorld's launch targets. In August, the developer outlined plans for projects exceeding RM2 billion in combined gross development value for financial year 2027 (FY27). It expects these launches to expand the portfolio generating its revenue and support its post-initial public offering target: cumulative launches worth RM4.6 billion by the end of 2026.

SkyWorld reported RM5.3 million in net profit for its first quarter, which ended on June 30, 2026. That represented an 84.3 per cent year-on-year increase, reflecting larger contributions from ongoing property projects. Revenue increased by 45.7 per cent, reaching RM108.7 million, with progressive recognition across five ongoing developments providing support. Gross profit reached RM31.6 million, a 17.1 per cent increase.
