Indonesia and Azerbaijan discuss wider industrial cooperation
Energy, processing and infrastructure were among the sectors considered during bilateral investment talks in Baku on October 27.

Officials from Indonesia and Azerbaijan examined opportunities for industrial cooperation and investment at an October 27 meeting in Baku. Indonesia's Deputy Minister of Investment and Downstream Todotua Pasaribu held the talks with Azerbaijan's Deputy Minister of Economy Azer Bayramov.
Todotua identified energy, processing and infrastructure as areas where the countries could work together. He said investment from Azerbaijan into Indonesia remained limited, but cooperation could move beyond trading commodities to industrial projects that would create economic value for both sides.
Indonesia welcomed a broader partnership, Todotua said, pointing to policies that promote industrial development and greater value from natural resources. He called for institutions in both countries to improve communication, identify possible areas of cooperation and encourage investment to materialise. The priority, he said, was to turn the countries' potential into concrete joint projects.
Indonesia's ambassador to Azerbaijan, Berlian Helmy, highlighted economic diplomacy as a means of strengthening relations. He said closer coordination involving businesses, investment promotion agencies and government representatives could generate further opportunities and strengthen the countries' economic relationship.
