Four Indonesian rural banks merge into BPR Arthaguna Mandiri
OJK approved the consolidation in July, with the merger taking effect on 10 August 2026. The regulator will continue overseeing integration.

Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK) has approved a four-bank merger, with PT BPR Arthaguna Mandiri as the surviving entity. The consolidation took effect on 10 August 2026.
The other lenders joining it were PT BPR Sejahteraartha Sembada, PT BPR Mitra Rakyat Riau and PT BPR Mitradana Madani. Approval was recorded in OJK decision KEP-50/D.03/2026, dated 2 July 2026. The document was handed over at OJK’s West Java office on 13 July 2026.
OJK said it would continue supervising and guiding integration to ensure compliance with regulations and protect customers during the transition. It also asked BPR Arthaguna Mandiri’s management to deliver operational improvements rather than limit the merger to administrative changes, including strengthening staff capabilities, technology, governance and services.
Darwisman, head of OJK’s West Java office, said consolidation was intended to strengthen the banks’ institutions and business capacity. The regulator expects the merger to improve efficiency, extend services and strengthen lending, with better corporate governance and risk management. It also hopes the combined bank will expand financing for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and productive sectors in the regions.
