Danantara plans integrated industrial area to revive Indonesian textiles
The investment body intends to invest and take a parent role supporting textile businesses, while inviting discussions on regulatory changes.

Indonesia’s BPI Danantara plans to bring textile production from upstream to downstream into a single integrated industrial area, chief operating officer Dony Oskaria said. He described the approach as a way to strengthen the sector and generate employment on a large scale.
In remarks carried on BP BUMN’s official Instagram account, Dony said Danantara intended to invest and act as a parent organisation supporting textile businesses. He argued that investment in the real economy was needed to create jobs.
Dony urged textile companies to work together and discuss with the government which regulations needed improvement. BP BUMN and Danantara are offering scope for collaboration to give the industry’s development a clearer direction.
Deputy speaker of Indonesia’s House of Representatives Cucun Ahmad Syamsurizal backed Danantara’s proposed role during a visit to Dony, who also heads BP BUMN, at Wisma Danantara in Jakarta.
Cucun welcomed Danantara’s willingness to support and protect textile businesses. He said Indonesia’s large domestic market offered an opportunity for the industry to recover through cooperation among stakeholders.
