Thailand seeks investment and trade gains from IMF–World Bank meetings
More than 8,000 official delegates are attending, with arrivals projected at roughly 20,000 including support staff and accompanying delegations.

Thailand hopes to attract foreign direct investment, develop international trade ties and increase tourism revenue through the IMF–World Bank Annual Meetings, Commerce Minister Suphajee Suthumpun said.
Attendance exceeds 8,000 official delegates. Including support personnel and the delegations travelling with them, arrivals are forecast to reach roughly 20,000. The influx is expected to have brought substantial spending to hospitality, transport and tourism businesses.
Suphajee said the gathering of senior delegates, financial leaders and company executives gave Thailand a platform to present its economic potential. She also described it as a chance to demonstrate the country's readiness to engage more closely internationally.
Beyond attracting investment and visitors, she said Thailand could draw on recommendations and methods shared by other countries. Those exchanges could help shape policies and cooperation intended to support the Thai economy as conditions in the global economy change, she said.
