PVFCCo and Topsoe sign deal to expand chemicals and energy cooperation
The partners will explore projects in Vietnam and assess technologies for low-carbon ammonia, green hydrogen and other energy products.

Petrovietnam Fertiliser and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo – Phu My) and Denmark’s Topsoe A/S signed an agreement in Copenhagen on October 19 to broaden their collaboration on chemical technologies and the energy transition. The partners agreed to study and assess possible projects in Vietnam.
Under the agreement, the companies will deploy technologies for processing gas and recovering energy, with the aim of using resources more efficiently and cutting emissions. They will also assess options to produce ammonia with lower emissions, develop green hydrogen and explore new energy derivatives.
The partnership will continue exchanges between technical experts, work to improve operating technologies and develop advanced skills among engineering staff. The companies have worked together for more than two decades, including on plant commissioning, routine operations and major maintenance shutdowns.
The agreement was formally exchanged on October 20 at the Vietnam-Denmark Business Forum. Denmark’s King Frederik X and Vietnam’s Party General Secretary and State President To Lam attended. A PVFCCo representative said the expanded cooperation formed part of its long-term strategy to move beyond traditional fertiliser production towards becoming a modern chemicals enterprise.
