Lite-On plans US$320 million capital injection into Vietnam operations
Board approvals allocate US$210 million to Lite-On Technology Vietnam and US$110 million to Lite-On Vietnam to expand production capacity.

Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Lite-On Technology Corporation plans to expand its Vietnamese production capacity through US$320 million in additional capital for two wholly owned subsidiaries. The board approved the funding, according to disclosures submitted to the Taiwan Stock Exchange on October 30.
The allocation comprises US$210 million for Lite-On Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd. and US$110 million for Lite-On Vietnam Co., Ltd. Lite-On said the money would come from internal resources, with injections staged to match actual demand.
The disclosures put expected cumulative investment after the increases at around US$369 million for Lite-On Technology Vietnam and approximately US$542.5 million for Lite-On Vietnam.
In its third-quarter financial report published on October 30, president Anson Chiu attributed an 80 per cent year-on-year rise in cloud computing-related revenue over the year's first nine months to demand for AI computing and data centre infrastructure. He said AI-related business now represents more than 30 per cent of the group's revenue this year.
Lite-On Vietnam began operating in the country in 2013, producing semiconductor components and electronic parts at Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park in Haiphong. A second-phase factory opened there in November 2022.
The company also has a manufacturing facility under development at Song Khoai–Amata Halong Industrial Park in Quang Ninh. That project has planned investment of around US$690 million and occupies roughly 30 hectares.
