Singapore-based Keppel is examining platforms for property investment that could raise up to US$1 billion after its Real Estate Division was chosen among the first members of the Vietnam International Financial Center (VIFC). The company is considering structures through which it could invest alongside global partners.

Most of the potential funding would come from third-party investors. Whether the platforms proceed would depend on market conditions, the availability of suitable investments and participation by partners.

The VIFC was established through a 2025 National Assembly resolution and operates across Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang. Its dedicated regulatory and legal arrangements cover foreign-currency transactions, tax incentives for qualifying projects and mechanisms for resolving international disputes.

Joseph Low, Keppel's Chief Representative for Vietnam and President of Vietnam Real Estate, said the company would collaborate with government agencies, investors and business partners to help develop the centre and bring overseas capital into Vietnam. He said Keppel would draw on its international network and experience in infrastructure, property and connectivity.

Keppel began operating in Vietnam about four decades ago. Its portfolio in the country includes 30 property projects, whose combined registered capital exceeds S$5 billion.
