Jakarta investment climbs 62.5% over 2023–2025
Employers’ association chief Shinta Widjaja Kamdani identified AI, data centres and green business as investment opportunities for the city.

Investment in Jakarta increased by 62.5 per cent during 2023–2025, Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) chair Shinta Widjaja Kamdani said on 28 October 2026. She put the pace of growth at 1.7 times the national average.
Addressing the KEARNEY 100 YEARS OF IMPACT event, Shinta welcomed Jakarta’s transformation and praised the local government’s commitment. The event’s theme concerned the city’s development as it approaches its 500th anniversary.
Household consumption grew by 5.25 per cent, while capital formation expanded by 5.47 per cent, she said, citing transport as a sector supporting growth.
Shinta identified artificial intelligence, data centres, green business and sustainability as areas offering substantial investment opportunities. She also highlighted potential in the creative economy, which she said had not yet become a driver of growth.
Sustaining Jakarta’s growth would require stronger governance and greater ease of doing business, she said. She urged collaboration and broader inclusion, including a larger role for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.
