Indonesia recorded monthly inflation of 0.22% in October 2026, down from 0.30% in September, according to Statistics Indonesia (BPS). The October reading was below the 0.24% expected by 12 institutions polled by CNBC Indonesia.

Ateng Hartono, BPS deputy for distribution and services statistics, gave the monthly figure during a press conference at the agency’s Jakarta headquarters on 2 November 2026.

On an annual basis, October inflation stood at 3.23%, compared with September’s 3.28%. The annual result also came in below the survey’s consensus estimate of 3.25%. BPS put inflation for the calendar year at 2.40%.

The survey consensus had pointed to a slowdown in both monthly and annual inflation from September. However, it had also identified increases in rice and cooking oil prices as factors that could curb the pace of that slowdown.
