Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK) has approved the absorption of PT BPR Sejahteraartha Sembada, PT BPR Mitra Rakyat Riau and PT BPR Mitradana Madani into PT BPR Arthaguna Mandiri. The approval was issued on 2 July 2026, and the merger became effective on 10 August 2026.

OJK handed the approval decision to PT BPR Arthaguna Mandiri at its West Java office on 13 July 2026. The consolidation forms part of the implementation of Law No. 4 of 2023 on Financial Sector Development and Strengthening.

In a statement dated 2 November 2026, OJK’s West Java head, Darwisman, said the enlarged bank was expected to improve operating efficiency, broaden financing access and strengthen governance and risk management. He said consolidation was intended to build stronger institutions, rather than simply increase their size.

OJK said it would supervise and guide the integration to ensure compliance with legal requirements and prudential principles while protecting customers’ interests. It also urged management to make operational, staffing, technology and service improvements, rather than limit integration to administrative changes.

Darwisman said stronger BPR institutions were expected to better serve micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and productive sectors in their regions, supporting wider access to finance and regional economic growth.
