Indonesia prepares rules for international financial centre in Jakarta
President Prabowo Subianto has outlined investor incentives and a governance framework for the centre, with Bali also a possible location.

Indonesia is drafting implementing regulations for its planned international financial centre in Jakarta, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said on 28 October 2026. Parliament passed the law governing the Pusat Finansial Internasional Indonesia (PFII) on 21 July 2026.
President Prabowo Subianto outlined the initiative in parliament on 14 August 2026 while presenting the proposed 2027 state budget and its financial statement. He named Jakarta, and potentially Bali, as locations for centres covering finance, investment, financial technology, arbitration and commercial dispute resolution.
Prabowo said the PFII framework would include an advisory board, a PFII council, a management body and a financial services supervisory institution. It would also have an arbitration institution and a PFII court operating under the Supreme Court.
The president said PFII would offer certainty over the transfer and repatriation of capital and profits, tax incentives for qualifying activities, golden visas and competitive licensing services. He said those provisions would be accompanied by governance and compliance requirements, with anti-money-laundering rules, beneficial ownership transparency, tax obligations and international information exchange remaining in force.
