Indonesia exchange prioritises transparency ahead of MSCI review
Foreign investors recorded net sales of Rp10.24 trillion in October 2026, while the exchange is also focusing on liquidity and market surveillance.

The Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) is prioritising improvements to disclosure, trading liquidity and market surveillance ahead of MSCI’s November 2026 index rebalancing announcement, according to its president director, Jeffrey.
MSCI is scheduled to announce the changes on 11 November 2026 Central European Time, or 12 November 2026 at 05.00 WIB. Jeffrey declined to comment on the possibility of foreign funds leaving Indonesia’s stock market, CNBC Indonesia reported on 6 November.
Jeffrey said the latest disclosure of shareholdings above 1% includes information on affiliated parties. He said BEI would continue that work to improve the quality of market transparency. Liquidity reforms had also begun, he said, but he did not detail those measures or the steps being taken on surveillance.
Foreign investors registered net sales of Rp10.24 trillion during October 2026, compared with net purchases of Rp1.19 trillion in August 2026. CNBC Indonesia reported that domestic market liquidity remained manageable, with the average bid-ask spread relatively steady at around 1.2%.
