Ho Chi Minh City presented more than 200 projects seeking investment at a dialogue with South Korean businesses on November 5, 2026. Officials outlined opportunities ranging from semiconductor facilities to metro lines and housing.

Pham Quang Nhat, director of the city’s Investment and Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC), identified four categories suited to South Korean companies’ capabilities: high technology; industrial parks and supporting industries; transport and ports; and urban development, housing and services.

Proposals at Saigon Hi-Tech Park include facilities for semiconductor research, training and manufacturing, alongside biotechnology research. The industrial park portfolio includes Lai Hung and Binh Duong Riverside, each with 600ha available, as well as Pham Van Hai I and Pham Van Hai II.

Transport projects include the 38.9km Metro Line No.2 between Thu Dau Mot and Ho Chi Minh City, the 41.8km Thu Thiem–Long Thanh railway and the 53.8km Metro Line No. 6. The city also presented Long Son General Port, which will accommodate vessels weighing up to 100,000 tonnes.

Nhat said foreign investment reached US$17.8 billion during the first nine months, compared with a full-year target of US$11 billion. He attributed the inflow to the city’s expanded development area, which incorporates the former Binh Duong and Ba Ria-Vung Tau provinces.

ITPC figures showed that, as of September 30, South Korea led the city’s investors by project count, with more than 3,400 projects. It ranked second by registered capital, which exceeded US$15.8 billion.
