ECERDC surpasses 2026 target with RM10.3 billion in realised investments
The investments are expected to generate about 8,000 jobs, while a further RM13.2 billion in commitments depends on project implementation.

The East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC) reported RM10.3 billion in realised investments for the first 10 months of 2026, exceeding its annual target of RM10 billion. The council expects the investments to create about 8,000 jobs, twice its target of 4,000.
The figures cover Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang and the Johor districts of Mersing and Segamat. ECERDC separately secured investment commitments worth RM13.2 billion against a RM10 billion target, although these remain dependent on projects being implemented.
Terengganu accounted for the largest share of realised investments at RM4.8 billion. Major contributors included Eastern Pacific Industrial Corporation Bhd's RM2 billion Kemaman Port expansion and a floating solar project worth RM1.9 billion by TNB Power Generation Sdn Bhd. Manufacturing contributed RM600 million.
Segamat recorded RM3.3 billion, with a hybrid solar development by Lestra Hexa JV Sdn Bhd driving investment. Pahang registered RM1.7 billion, including tourism, sucralose manufacturing and durian farming projects. Kelantan met its state target with RM600 million, supported by solar, plantation and food-processing projects.
ECERDC also signed memoranda of understanding with TGA Solutions Sdn Bhd to promote investment in Pahang's Tanjung Agas Industrial Area, and with Infinity Landbridge Express Sdn Bhd to explore transport and investment opportunities at Segamat Inland Port.
Infinity is investing RM30 million to bring the inland port back into operation as a rail logistics hub. It is expected to process up to 6,000 twenty-foot equivalent units of cargo monthly.
Chief executive officer Syamsul Farizz Nadzeri said ECERDC would focus on converting commitments into realised investments and working with investors and development partners to accelerate implementation and expand economic opportunities across the region.
