Danantara targets US$30 billion in commitments at first Bali investor forum
Leaders from Templeton Global Investments, Jardine Matheson and SoftBank have confirmed attendance at the December 3-4 gathering.

Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund Danantara will host its inaugural New Asia Forum in Bali on December 3-4, seeking US$30 billion in investment commitments. The fund’s target centres on strategic projects in Indonesia, while the gathering also aims to channel investment into emerging Asian economies.
Confirmed attendees include Manraj Sekhon, chief investment officer at Templeton Global Investments; Lincoln Pan, Jardine Matheson’s CEO; and Masayoshi Son, SoftBank Group’s chairman and CEO. Capital A CEO Tony Fernandes, former Austrian chancellor Sebastian Kurz and Freeport-McMoRan president and CEO Kathleen Kirk are also expected.
Pahala Mansury, Danantara’s managing director for global relations and communications, told The Business Times in Singapore on November 3 that the fund wants domestic and foreign partners to contribute capital or expertise in sectors including technology and critical minerals. He said the forum’s geographical scope encompasses South-east, South and Central Asia.
The event, held under Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto’s patronage, is intended to connect governments, sovereign wealth funds, businesses and family conglomerates seeking deals in Asia through Indonesia, Pahala said. He also said a data centre announcement would be made during the forum, without providing a capital figure.
Separately, Pahala acknowledged unresolved questions about Danantara’s governance and procedures. He said its financial statements would be published before year-end and were undergoing review by the Audit Board of Indonesia.
Danantara started consolidating state-owned enterprises after its establishment in February 2025. It aims to reduce their number to around 250 over four years to improve efficiency and remove underperforming businesses. The fund said on November 3 that it had cut some 364 state-owned enterprises as at October.
