Converge plans at least ₱5 billion in Cavite and Laguna data centres
One planned facility would have 80 megawatts of capacity, making it the broadband provider’s largest data centre.

Philippine broadband provider Converge ICT Solutions Inc. plans to build data centres in Cavite and Laguna, committing at least ₱5 billion to the expansion, according to chief executive and co-founder Dennis Anthony Uy.
Uy said one of the two proposed facilities would have a capacity of 80 megawatts, exceeding that of any data centre the company currently operates. He said Converge was preparing four years ahead for an expected increase in demand, including computing for artificial intelligence.
The company already runs data centres in Angeles City, Caloocan, Clark and Pasig. Uy said its expansion in the sector would complement its cloud computing investments, managed through Converge Cloud.
Separately, Uy said Converge was developing a fibre broadband service costing as little as ₱500 a month. The offering would be distinct from its Surf2Sawa prepaid service, which costs ₱700 monthly.
The new product targets consumers without service in third- and fourth-class municipalities, particularly in Mindanao. A pilot is planned, with commercial introduction scheduled for 2027. Uy said broadband penetration remained low; Opensignal data put fibre-to-the-home coverage at only 29 per cent of Filipinos.
