Bukalapak says 83% of its cash is held in foreign currencies
The company said the foreign-currency funds came from surplus operating funds, not its initial public offering proceeds.

PT. Bukalapak.com Tbk held about Rp12.9 trillion in foreign currencies as at 30 September 2026, representing 83% of its cash and cash equivalents, the company said in a response dated 29 October 2026.
Management told the Indonesia Stock Exchange that the placements followed a prudential approach, taking account of fund security, liquidity and the timing of cash-flow needs. It said the funds were intended to cover foreign-currency operating requirements and improve returns on surplus operating funds.
The company said the money did not come from its initial public offering proceeds. Its financial statements showed total cash and cash equivalents of Rp15.564 trillion at 30 September 2026, equivalent to about 62.5% of total assets of Rp24.918 trillion.
Bukalapak recorded a net foreign-exchange gain of Rp872.4 billion for the first nine months of 2026, compared with Rp216.4 billion a year earlier. The increase was Rp656 billion.
Management said most of those gains remained unrealised during the period. They reflected exchange-rate movements affecting foreign-currency transactions, assets and financial instruments, rather than cash holdings alone. Other contributors included other current financial assets, long-term investments and other financial instruments.
