Boustead and MCorp partner on leadership development
The collaboration supports plans for Boustead Academy as the group seeks to strengthen its position in Malaysia’s defence industry.

Boustead Holdings Bhd has partnered with PT MarkPlus Indonesia (MCorp) to prepare future leaders and improve organisational capabilities, with the collaboration forming part of its plans to establish Boustead Academy.
Boustead said its human capital management division would lead the initiative, which aims to improve performance through staff development, changes in workplace culture and organisational improvements. The group identified leadership continuity, the retention of institutional knowledge and specialised expertise as priorities as its business needs change.
Speaking at the signing ceremony for the memorandum of collaboration, chairman General Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Haji Zainal said Boustead’s transformation demanded more than a change in business focus. It also required different leadership thinking, cultural changes and stronger execution capabilities, he said.
Abdul Aziz said employees needed sustained investment and opportunities to grow professionally, while company values should guide leadership and decisions. Group managing director Ahmad Sabirin described the partnership as reflecting Boustead’s commitment to talent development and a culture aligned with its changing ambitions.
The planned academy is expected to support Boustead’s defence industry ambitions under the Defence Industry Policy of Malaysia. The initiative’s focus includes nurturing Malaysian talent, advancing high-value manufacturing and technological innovation, pursuing business opportunities and strengthening cooperation between the public and private sectors.
