Anthony Lim will take over the DBS chairmanship on Jan 1, 2027, succeeding Peter Seah, the bank said in a Nov 5 filing. Seah’s retirement on Dec 31, 2026, will be followed by a one-year appointment as senior adviser.

Seah said completing the chief executive handover to Tan Su Shan had given him confidence to pass responsibility for the board to Lim. He has chaired DBS since 2010 and also holds the chairmanships of Singapore Airlines and Lasalle College of the Arts.

A member of the DBS boards since April 2020, Lim chairs the Compensation and Management Development Committee. His other board committee memberships cover executive matters and risk management.

DBS credited Lim with contributing to leadership succession, including the chief executive transition, alongside oversight of remuneration and talent development. His career included senior positions with GIC and Bankers Trust and postings in Singapore, London and New York, before he retired from executive work in 2017.
