The rise followed a gain in the preceding session, bringing the increase over two days to Rp15,000. Antam’s buyback price also climbed, rising Rp25,000 to Rp2,311,000 per gram.

CNBC Indonesia reported that purchases of Antam gold bars are subject to Article 22 income tax. Buyers holding an NPWP tax identification number face a rate of 0.25 per cent, while those without one are charged 0.5 per cent.

Different rates apply to buyback transactions worth more than Rp10 million: 1.5 per cent for NPWP holders and 3 per cent for those without an NPWP. The tax on these transactions is deducted directly from the total transaction value.
