Indonesia’s government is seeking Rp160 trillion to Rp165 trillion in mineral and coal non-tax state receipts by the end of 2026, following collections that have already exceeded its official annual target.

Coordinating Minister for Downstreaming and Energy Transition Bahlil Lahadalia outlined the goal on November 2 at the Mineral and Coal Convention and Exhibition 2026 in Jakarta. He said the sector’s fiscal performance supported the ambition.

According to Bahlil, receipts as of October 31, 2026 totalled Rp141.94 trillion, or 106 per cent of the Rp134.05 trillion full-year target. Collections were also above the Rp135.16 trillion received during the entire 2025 fiscal year.

The government also reminded mining operators of their environmental obligations, particularly compulsory land reclamation. Official figures showed that companies had reclaimed 6,480 hectares by September 2026, meeting 64 per cent of the 10,100-hectare target.

Separately, Bahlil called for industry leaders to strengthen governance and handle Indonesia’s natural resources with care, putting long-term sustainability ahead of short-term exploitation.
