Vietnam seeks wider trade links with Lebanon and other new markets
Representatives from more than 50 Lebanese businesses attended a bilateral forum covering investment conditions and access to Vietnam’s market.

Vietnam considers expanding commerce with new markets in the Middle East and Africa, including Lebanon, important for economic growth, Ambassador Nguyen Nam Duong said at a business forum on October 16.
Duong, Vietnam’s ambassador to Egypt and Lebanon, jointly led the Vietnam-Lebanon Business Forum alongside Ibrahim Faz, Vice President of the Tripoli and North Lebanon Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture. More than 50 Lebanese businesses sent representatives.
The programme examined bilateral trade and outlined conditions for business and investment in each country. It also addressed questions from Lebanese companies about entering Vietnam’s market and pursuing investment and commercial opportunities there.
The forum coincided with Duong’s working visit to Lebanon. During the trip, he formally took up his post as non-resident ambassador after presenting credentials to President Joseph Aoun. Aoun said he wanted closer cooperation with Vietnam and would instruct Lebanese authorities to assist Duong in his duties.
In separate talks, Duong and Aline Younes, Director of International Affairs at Lebanon’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, agreed to coordinate more closely and pursue practical steps to deepen relations. Their priorities included exchanges across all levels, cooperation in regional and international forums, and stronger South-South cooperation.
