An exhibition aimed at expanding trade and investment between Vietnam and Cambodia opened on October 14 in Phnom Penh. VIDEX CAMBODIA 2026 has 189 booths representing 150 organisations and businesses.

The Koh Pich (Diamond Island) Convention and Exhibition Centre hosts the 10,000 sq.m fair, with civilian organisations and businesses accounting for 125 participants. Another 25 are military-affiliated enterprises and units. Vietnam’s defence and industry and trade ministries are jointly organising it with Cambodia’s defence ministry.

Vietnamese Deputy Minister of National Defence Nguyen Quang Ngoc said the exhibition could foster commercial opportunities and greater trust among businesses, citizens and the armed forces of both countries. Preparations are also under way for the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Year 2027, commemorating 60 years of diplomatic relations.

General Tan Thanna, Secretary of State at Cambodia’s Ministry of National Defence, said he wanted the exhibition to be held regularly. He pledged to strengthen cooperation on economic and defence matters, especially military trade and the defence industry.

Exhibitors include Viettel Cambodia (MetFone), whose General Director Cao Manh Duc said it was showing solutions for artificial intelligence, digital finance, green energy, digital services and smart cities. Cambodian coffee producer ACC is displaying Khmer-branded products developed locally. Its General Director Son Sarin said the company plans to increase production and broaden its range to meet market demand.
