SGX and Philippine bourse sign pact to explore depository receipts and ETFs
The exchanges will also consider derivatives, with potential ETFs centred on investment themes common to both markets.

Singapore’s SGX Group has signed an agreement with the Philippine Stock Exchange to examine possible offerings connecting the two markets, the Singapore bourse operator said on Oct 22, 2026. Depository receipts, exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and derivatives are among the products they will consider.
SGX said the potential ETFs would be based on investment themes that the markets share. Its chief executive, Loh Boon Chye, said closer market connections could broaden companies’ access to capital and investors throughout the region.
The agreement comes amid weak demand for US stocks available locally under the Singapore Depository Receipts programme. Competing products and cautious investors have held trading volumes at very low levels.
SGX’s existing depository receipt offerings cover shares from Thailand, Hong Kong and Indonesia.
