Prabowo orders export push and action on business barriers
A presidential task force will address obstacles to Indonesian exports, with manufacturing among the sectors targeted.

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has instructed ministries to step up exports across business sectors before the end of 2026, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said. A task force assigned by the president will tackle obstacles that could constrain exports.
Airlangga outlined the directive after the economic team met Prabowo at the State Palace in Jakarta on 19 October 2026. Manufacturing is among the sectors the government intends to support as it seeks stronger export performance.
The meeting reviewed economic conditions ahead of year-end and assessed two years of Prabowo’s administration. Officials examined economic growth, inflation trends, banking-sector macroeconomic conditions and realised investment.
Airlangga described the national economy as relatively stable. He said the government was working to sustain growth by improving coordination across sectors and strengthening the performance of productive industries.
The government aims to broaden overseas markets for Indonesian products while maintaining macroeconomic stability. It plans to identify export-related constraints and address them through the presidential task force, with the aim of sustaining national growth through the end of the year.
