Malaysia increases EIS benefits to as much as RM25,000 per contributor
Perkeso says its employment services helped 117,733 people secure jobs between January and August 14, 2026.

Malaysia’s Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan has announced that enhanced Employment Insurance System (EIS) benefits would provide each contributor with up to RM25,000 in combined assistance and protection, effective October 1.
The Social Security Organisation, or Perkeso, combines financial support with services to help people return to work. Azirruan Arifin, its deputy chief executive (Operations), told Bernama that the organisation helped 117,733 jobseekers obtain employment between January and August 14, 2026.
Its services range from career counselling and help preparing resumes to matching applicants with vacancies. Jobseekers can also access registration and placement services on MYFutureJobs, alongside career fairs and open interviews.
Azirruan said differences between applicants’ skills and experience and industry requirements were among the obstacles to finding work quickly. EIS offers reskilling and upskilling through active labour market programmes to improve employment prospects, he said.
One recipient, Hamdi Ismail, 54, said the assistance supported his move into business after leaving a bank clerk job in November 2018. He sells grilled sausages and AG Mango Float drinks in Kampung Laut, Tumpat, earning income that helps meet his family’s daily expenses.
