Indonesia’s Campuspreneur programme generated US$24.5 million in transactions at Trade Expo Indonesia 2026, Trade Minister Budi Santoso said in an interview with CNBC Indonesia on 29 October. The initiative trains university students to become entrepreneurs and export Indonesian products.

The ministry works with more than 25 campuses through Campuspreneur, with around 20 participating in a dedicated exhibition area at the expo, Budi said. Support includes export training, packaging and product design, and help finding overseas buyers through trade attachés and Indonesian Trade Promotion Centres.

BINUS ranked first in a competition measuring participating campuses’ transaction values, followed by Telkom Bandung and IPB, according to Budi. BINUS participants offered products including charcoal and agricultural goods, while Telkom Bandung’s exports included animation.

The wider expo, held from 14 to 18 October 2026, recorded US$22.94 billion in transactions and 426 memorandums of understanding, Budi said. Small and medium-sized enterprises accounted for around US$510 million in transactions.

Budi attributed the results to advance work identifying exhibitors and products and connecting them with buyers online before the event. Preparations have already begun for the next expo, scheduled for 13 October 2027. He said Campuspreneur requires continued mentoring so students can expand their businesses and exports after graduation and create jobs.
