OJK examines private bank after reports of withdrawal difficulties
Social media posts named MNC Bank, but the regulator did not identify the bank whose condition it was examining.

Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK) said it was looking into an unnamed private bank’s condition after reports of difficulties accessing deposits. OJK chair Friderica Widyasari Dewi addressed the issue at a KSSK press conference on 3 November 2026.
Friderica said OJK was tracking developments and seeking to ensure the bank could respond to customer enquiries and fulfil its obligations under the rules. The regulator would determine supervisory measures based on its evaluation, while prioritising consumer protection and prudential standards.
Posts circulating on social media identified PT Bank MNC Internasional Tbk. (BABP). One Threads user said an attempted transfer to another bank had been returned to their MNC account. Another user alleged that a branch had limited their cash withdrawal. The posts were claims by social media users.
Friderica also said OJK continued to monitor banking-sector liquidity and risks that could affect public confidence, while coordinating with other authorities to maintain financial stability. She urged the public to stay calm, avoid unverified information and consult banks’ official channels for updates on services and transaction problems.
