Indonesian business activity remains positive in third quarter
Capacity utilisation stood at 73.75 per cent, while businesses reported better liquidity and profitability, according to Bank Indonesia.

Bank Indonesia’s business activity survey recorded a positive weighted net balance of 11.46 per cent for the third quarter of 2026, with every business sector posting a positive reading. The central bank published the findings on 19 October.
Manufacturing, public administration, defence and compulsory social security were among the sectors supporting activity. Electricity and gas supply, construction and real estate also contributed, the bank said.
Production capacity utilisation held at 73.75 per cent during July–September. Increases were recorded in several sectors, particularly manufacturing, electricity and gas supply, and water supply, waste management and recycling.
Businesses’ financial conditions generally improved in terms of liquidity and profitability, according to the survey. Access to credit remained easy.
Respondents expected business activity to remain positive in the following quarter, forecasting a weighted net balance of 10.77 per cent. Sectors expected to improve included transport and storage, information and communication, real estate, business services, and wholesale and retail trade and vehicle repairs. Bank Indonesia linked those expectations to increased activity around Christmas and the year-end holidays.
