Indonesia to prioritise four state-owned builders in merger programme
Wijaya Karya and Waskita Karya will follow, as Danantara says they need more extensive restructuring of their finances, assets and liabilities.

Indonesia’s Danantara plans to begin its consolidation of state-owned construction companies with PP, Adhi Karya, Brantas Abipraya and Nindya Karya. Dony Oskaria, head of BP BUMN and Danantara’s chief operating officer, outlined the priorities in Jakarta on 2 October 2026.
Dony said those four companies were considered easier to merge and would be dealt with before businesses requiring more restructuring. The planned mergers form part of a programme to streamline Indonesia’s state-owned enterprises.
Wijaya Karya and Waskita Karya would come next, he said. Both require more extensive work on their financial condition, assets and liabilities. Dony contrasted their situation with Hutama Karya, which he described as financially healthy.
For Wijaya Karya and Waskita Karya, Dony said the measures would include corporate restructuring, investment in their assets and efforts to reduce their debt burden. He identified the two companies as the ones presenting difficulties in the consolidation process.
