Indonesia’s Creative Economy Ministry is supporting 46 local brands at Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2026, seeking to help them reach overseas buyers and build lasting export business. The ministry is working with the Trade Ministry to expand access to international markets.

Creative Economy Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya said the goal was to obtain long-term export deals rather than simply give Indonesian products greater international visibility.

The ministry’s three booths feature 18 crafts brands, 16 culinary brands and 12 fashion brands. All previously received support under its Accelerating the Export of Indonesian Creations (ASIK) programme. The expo’s 41st edition takes place at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City in Tangerang, Banten, from October 14 to 18, 2026.

Statistics Indonesia (BPS) figures put the United States first among destinations for Indonesia’s creative economy exports in January–April 2026, with US$3.31 billion. Fashion accounted for US$2.8 billion, while crafts contributed US$480 million and culinary products US$15.55 million.

Separately, Trade Ministry figures show that Indonesian food exports worldwide amounted to around US$59.04 billion in 2025. The United States ranked second behind China as a market for those products.

Food shipments to the United States rose 14.06 per cent to US$5.97 billion in 2025 from US$5.23 billion in 2024. They represented roughly 10.1 per cent of Indonesia’s worldwide food exports.
