Indonesia Stock Exchange revises IHSG eligibility and review schedule
Shares classified as having high ownership concentration will be excluded from the index under changes taking effect on 2 November 2026.

The Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) will change the eligibility rules and quarterly review timetable for its Composite Index (IHSG), effective 2 November 2026. The revision adds shares classified under High Shareholding Concentration (HSC) to those excluded from the index.
Previously, the selection rules covered all listed shares except those on the Acceleration Board. That exclusion will remain alongside the new HSC restriction.
Quarterly reviews will move to January, April, July and October from March, June, September and December. Following the revision, review changes will take effect on the first trading day of February, May, August and November.
The exchange will also adjust the IHSG immediately when shares enter or leave the HSC classification between scheduled reviews. Such adjustments were not previously covered by specific provisions. The index will retain its capped, free-float-adjusted market-capitalisation weighting method, with a cap of 9 per cent.
BEI said the revisions form part of work with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Indonesia Central Securities Depository (KSEI) to strengthen market integrity and make the index more representative of market conditions. In a written statement dated 23 October 2026, BEI corporate secretary Elsierra Putri Yosita said the exchange would monitor implementation and maintain communication with stakeholders, including investors and index providers.
