Indonesia has exported 146 cargoes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Singapore in addition to its pipeline supplies, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia said. He put the total volume of pipeline gas exports to Singapore at 409.55 Mmscfd.

At a press conference at the ministry, Bahlil said Indonesia had cut pipeline deliveries by 31 Mmscfd, representing less than 8 per cent of that volume. The reduction consisted of 15 Mmscfd from Natuna and 16 Mmscfd from Sumatra.

He attributed the lower supplies to maintenance at gas wells and the need to meet demand within Indonesia. Natuna and Sumatra are the two areas supplying the country's pipeline gas exports to Singapore, according to Bahlil.

Bahlil maintained that the reduction remained within the limits allowed under Indonesia's supply contract. He said a cut of 10 per cent would breach the contract, while stressing that the government respected its contractual obligations.
