IMF raises Indonesia’s 2026 growth forecast to 5.1 per cent
The fund expects Indonesian inflation to reach 3.3 per cent in 2026 before easing to 2.8 per cent in 2027.

Indonesia’s economy is expected to grow by 5.1 per cent in 2026, according to the International Monetary Fund’s October 2026 World Economic Outlook. The fund raised its estimate from the 5 per cent forecast published in April.
For 2027, the IMF left its Indonesian growth projection unchanged at 5.1 per cent. It also forecast inflation of 3.3 per cent in 2026, above its April estimate, followed by a slowdown to 2.8 per cent in 2027.
Globally, the fund expects economic growth to slow to 3.1 per cent in 2026 before picking up to 3.4 per cent in 2027. It projects a substantial rise in global headline inflation to 4.7 per cent in 2026, with the rate easing to 4.1 per cent the following year.
The IMF said faster technological adoption had helped global economic activity remain resilient. It credited a technology-sector resurgence, economic buffers and adaptation measures with cushioning disruption caused by geopolitical factors.
