Google Wallet could introduce QR payments for travellers visiting Singapore through Alipay+, according to findings reported by Android Authority. Google has made no formal announcement of the feature, called Traveler QR, or said when it could become available.

Android Authority identified an overseas QR payment setting in Google Wallet version 26.42.1003171897. A link attached to that setting directs users to Google's support documentation for Traveler QR.

The documentation says the feature would switch on automatically once a user's phone detects their arrival in a supported destination. Singapore is currently the sole destination listed on the support page, with payments handled through partner networks connected to Alipay+.

Android Authority suggested Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines could be added later, but Google has not confirmed those markets. The publication also warned that functions uncovered by examining app code are still being developed and might never become publicly available.
