Dong Thap sets US$480 million investment plan as industrial parks expand
The Vietnamese province aims to bring at least 18 new industrial parks into operation by 2030, alongside investment in regional transport links.

Vietnam’s Dong Thap has approved US$480 million for public investment in 2026, with transport connections and industrial park development among its priorities. The provincial People’s Council authorised a budget 5 per cent above the amount assigned by the prime minister.
State Treasury data showed spending reached US$263.3 million by September 30, or roughly 55 per cent of the province’s adjusted plan. The expanded province was formed through the merger of Dong Thap and Tien Giang in 2025.
A proposed investment programme for 2026-2030 includes 17 projects due to start construction, alongside three carried over from earlier periods. A scheme to improve Dong Thap’s inter-regional connections has an estimated investment requirement of US$758.6 million.
Projects involving foreign capital include a US$283.8 million coastal route through the former Tien Giang, linking Long An with Ben Tre. Another scheme, involving roads south of the Tien River, carries an investment figure of around US$205.9 million.
Completion of the Cao Lanh-An Huu expressway’s first phase is expected in 2026. The initial phase of the My An-Cao Lanh expressway is scheduled to finish in 2028, and the Ministry of Construction has agreed to replace its limited four-lane configuration with a full four-lane design.
Dong Thap’s six existing industrial parks are largely occupied; another four are being developed or awaiting administrative steps. For 2026, provincial priorities include advancing in-principle approvals for Soai Rap, Tan Phuoc 2 and Cao Lanh III, and speeding up land clearance and infrastructure construction at Tan Phuoc 1 and Binh Dong.
