Bursa Malaysia Bhd earned RM70.21 million in net profit during the third quarter ended September 30, 2026, improving 10 per cent on the RM63.85 million recorded a year earlier. The operator linked the gain to increased market activity, fundraising momentum and implementation of its strategic priorities.

Quarterly revenue climbed from RM179.90 million to RM216.42 million, a 20.3 per cent rise. Bursa Malaysia said higher operating expenses were the main reason its cost-to-income ratio reached 56 per cent, four percentage points higher.

Profit at the securities market business advanced 11.5 per cent to RM104.60 million. Trading generated RM90.90 million in revenue, against RM78.90 million previously, representing growth of 15.3 per cent. Average daily trading value, covering on-market trades and direct business transactions, increased from RM2.80 billion to RM3.20 billion, up 13.5 per cent.

Listing and issuer services revenue reached RM31.20 million, rising 64.2 per cent from RM19 million. The operator attributed this to more corporate exercises and increases in annual listing, perusal and processing fees following January 1 revisions. The derivatives business delivered RM16.50 million in quarterly profit, a 34.9 per cent increase.

Across the first nine months of 2026, net profit grew from RM189.33 million to RM214.81 million, up 13.5 per cent. Revenue totalled RM641.46 million compared with RM536.86 million previously. Spending on talent, technology and regulatory fees contributed to a 23.4 per cent increase in operating expenses to RM349 million.

Chief executive officer Datuk Fad'l Mohamed highlighted 47 initial public offerings over the nine-month period. He said the operator would continue encouraging market participation and investing in infrastructure resilience and reliability.
