Bulog supplies about 4,000 tons of rice a day to steady prices
Indonesia plans more sales outlets through village cooperatives, while retail price caps remain Rp12,500 per kilogram for medium rice and Rp14,900 for premium rice.

Indonesia’s Bulog is distributing around 4,000 tons of rice each day through its Food Supply and Price Stabilization (SPHP) programme. President Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani said the state food procurement company’s regular deliveries were intended to maintain sufficient supplies and stabilise prices.
The government plans to extend distribution through Red and White Village Cooperatives, creating additional places to buy medium and premium rice. Speaking at East Jakarta’s Cipinang Central Rice Market, Ramdhani called for quicker deliveries to get available stocks to consumers, retailers and village outlets.
For premium rice, Bulog’s nationwide daily distribution is approximately 507 tons. Ramdhani put that quantity at roughly 10 per cent of national demand for the category, with private businesses supplying the other 90 per cent.
A directive issued by the National Food Agency (Bapanas) caps medium rice at Rp12,500 per kilogram and premium rice at Rp14,900 per kilogram. Ramdhani said keeping food prices stable also required Bulog to coordinate with private companies and rice mills.
