Pertamina unit buys interests in three Eni oil and gas blocks
PHE acquired 10 per cent interests in North Ganal and Rapak, while its East Sepinggan stake rose from 15 per cent to 25 per cent.

Italy's Eni has sold participating interests in three East Kalimantan oil and gas blocks to PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE). The transaction followed the signing of a Sales and Purchase Agreement in early October 2026, giving PHE 10 per cent in each of North Ganal and Rapak and increasing its East Sepinggan holding to 25 per cent from 15 per cent.
PHE president director Sunaryanto said in a statement on 12 October 2026 that investing in assets with substantial resource potential was intended to strengthen its upstream portfolio. He described the acquisition as part of efforts to maintain national oil and gas production and generate value for the company and Indonesia.
According to CNBC Indonesia, Pertamina's participation directly advances Kutei North Hub, a National Strategic Project covering North Ganal and Rapak. The development links to existing Pertamina infrastructure and creates scope for operational cooperation with PT Badak NGL's East Kalimantan facilities.
The acquisition also gives PHE access to producing fields, developments and exploration prospects to support medium- and long-term production growth. The investment supports better use of gas, LPG and LNG infrastructure and continuity of Indonesia's domestic gas supply chain, CNBC Indonesia reported.
