Indonesia’s PT Pegadaian (Persero) reported profit of Rp6.59 trillion for the first half of 2026, an increase of 84% from Rp3.58 trillion a year earlier. President director Damar Latri Setiawan attributed the performance to lending and growth in product sales.

Speaking at the Danantara BUMN Progress Update 2026 on 16 October 2026, Damar said outstanding loans had reached Rp155 trillion. He described the figures as a sign of public confidence in Pegadaian.

Damar said sales growth covered both financing and gold investment products. Pegadaian had also worked to improve public understanding of gold investment as part of its efforts to develop those products.

The company was pursuing efficiencies by using facilities and infrastructure belonging to its holding company, BRI, he said. That arrangement also allows Pegadaian to open outlets within BRI branches.

Damar added that Pegadaian’s Tring! service made it easier for customers to interact with the company. He said maintaining and improving the current performance remained a challenge.
