Oji Group starts construction of US$110 million packaging plant in Vietnam
The Dong Nai facility is scheduled to open in 2028, with a maximum annual capacity of eight billion cartons and more than 200 jobs expected.

Japan’s Oji Group has broken ground on a US$110 million factory in Vietnam to make aseptic cartons for drinks and other liquid foods. The facility will cover about 57,000 square metres in Dong Nai City’s Long Thanh High-Tech Park, with operations scheduled to start in 2028.
The plant will have capacity to manufacture a maximum of eight billion cartons annually and is expected to create more than 200 jobs. It will supply Vietnamese customers as well as the group’s Southeast Asian network and international markets.
Mikito Terauchi, an executive officer at Oji Holdings Corporation, said local manufacturing would help the group serve customers in Vietnam and elsewhere in Asia-Pacific. Nguyen Quoc An, deputy head of the Dong Nai Industrial Parks and Economic Zones Authority, said investments of this scale could develop local industry and deepen Vietnam’s involvement in regional supply chains.
Oji Liquid Pak said customers could buy packaging materials separately or choose a package combining materials, filling technology and technical support. The company said its materials work with existing roll-fed filling machines. Oji Group is also pursuing carton collection and recycling in Southeast Asia through partnerships and technology development.
Established in Vietnam in 2025, Oji Liquid Pak develops the group’s Asia-Pacific liquid packaging business. Oji expanded its capabilities in 2023 by acquiring Italy’s IPI S.r.l., which specialises in aseptic cartons and filling equipment.
