Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. placed first among Philippine banks and securities firms in two categories at The Asset Benchmark Research Awards 2026: Local Currency Bonds and G3 Bonds.

Individual honours also went to four members of the bank’s Trust Banking Group. Ginny Pecaña, who heads its Investment Services Division, was included among the Philippines’ Most Astute Investors in the Local Currency Bonds category.

Three investment execution officers—Ivy May Mamauag, Mia Santiago and Seth Gamboa—earned Trading recognition for Local Currency Bonds. Mamauag and Santiago also took the two highest individual places in G3 Bonds’ Best in Trading category.

Toto Tansingco, head of Metrobank’s Financial Markets Sector, said the honours reflected the bank’s commitment to developing the Philippine fixed-income market. He also credited its employees’ expertise and the support of institutional and retail customers.

The Asset, an Asia-based financial media and research firm, runs the annual awards to recognise financial institutions and professionals working in sales, trading and portfolio management across the region.
