Maybank Indonesia adds overseas transfers to M2U ID with US$2.5 promotional fee
Developed with NIUM, the Fast Remittance feature initially covers five destination markets, with promotional pricing available until December 2026.

Maybank Indonesia has introduced overseas transfers through its M2U ID app in partnership with cross-border payments infrastructure provider NIUM. The bank is charging a promotional fee of US$2.5 per transaction until December 2026, compared with its standard US$10 fee.
The Fast Remittance service initially supports transfers to Europe in euros, the United Kingdom in pounds sterling, Australia in Australian dollars, Hong Kong in Hong Kong dollars and Singapore in Singapore dollars. Customers can access the feature at any time through the app.
Bambang Andri Irawan, Maybank Indonesia’s director of IT and digital, said the feature was developed to meet customers’ increasingly frequent cross-border financial needs. It connects the bank’s digital services with NIUM’s global payments network.
Maybank said the service aims to make international transactions faster and fees more transparent. Transfer limits and destination-specific settlement estimates were not specified, nor were details of how exchange rates are calculated or what additional charges might apply.
The addition expands M2U ID’s existing services, which include funds transfers, payments, QR Pay, digital wallet top-ups and investments.
