JICA conducts 10th expert mission on Vietnam equity market
Corporate disclosure, financial literacy and self-regulatory organisations are among the priorities for meetings in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is undertaking its 10th expert mission with the State Securities Commission of Vietnam (SSC) from October 9 to 15. The agency said on October 13 that the programme covers Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City as part of a technical cooperation project on equity market efficiency.
Experts are holding consultations with SSC, the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE) and other market participants. Their agenda includes corporate disclosure, financial literacy and self-regulatory organisations, alongside work on the market’s institutional capacity and operations.
The Ho Chi Minh City programme includes sessions at HOSE, while working groups in Hanoi will meet at SSC. Briefings in both cities will bring together securities firms, fund managers, the Securities Research and Training Centre and the Vietnam Association of Securities Business to discuss working-group reports.
The mission is scheduled to end on October 15 with the Joint Coordinating Committee’s fifth meeting at SSC. Both sides will assess progress and technical results, then agree on priorities for the project’s next phase.
Started in 2024, the project aims to build capacity at SSC and the stock exchanges. Its remit covers market surveillance and inspection, oversight of intermediaries, listing and public offering practices aligned with international standards, and greater awareness of investor protection among listed companies.
