Indonesia's IHSG closes 0.46 per cent higher at 6,036.89
Trading reached Rp12.26 trillion, with energy, consumer staples, technology and financial shares supporting the index.

Indonesia's benchmark IHSG finished trading on 2 October 2026 at 6,036.89, gaining 27.38 points, or 0.46 per cent. Energy, consumer staples, technology and financial stocks helped support the advance.
The index started the session at 6,018.08 and climbed as high as 6,053.23. Selling pressure subsequently pushed it to an intraday low of 5,979.98 before it ended the session higher.
IDX data showed that 319 stocks rose, while 337 declined and 134 were unchanged. Trading volume stood at 121.54 billion shares, with transactions worth Rp12.26 trillion across 1.62 million trades.
Stocks contributing to the index's gain included Bank Central Asia (BBCA), DCI Indonesia (DCII), Astra International (ASII), GOTO Gojek Tokopedia (GOTO) and BRMS. Domestic developments drawing market attention included the cabinet reshuffle, appointments to the presidential advisory council, short-selling implementation and market responses to manufacturing, trade balance and inflation data.
