Indonesia inaugurates US$10.2 billion in industrial projects
China welcomed Indonesia’s investment commitments after the Central Halmahera ceremony, where four operations began commercial activity.

Industrial projects worth US$10.2 billion were inaugurated in Central Halmahera, Indonesia, on October 8, with President Prabowo attending the ceremony at Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park (IWIP). Four operations moved into commercial activity, while groundbreaking ceremonies were held for seven planned facilities.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning welcomed Indonesia’s commitment to safeguarding foreign investment on October 13. She expressed confidence that Indonesia would protect Chinese businesses’ lawful interests and maintain fair, transparent conditions for investors.
Mao said China intended to expand cooperation with Indonesia in relevant sectors in line with the shared strategic understanding of President Prabowo and President Xi Jinping. She said cooperation in mining, energy and other industries had benefited both countries.
At the inauguration, Prabowo cited Investment and Downstreaming Minister Rosan Roeslani’s report that investment at IWIP had reached US$20 billion. Future projects were expected to attract another US$7 billion, he said, adding that the development had generated employment opportunities for more than 100,000 people.
The four operations entering the commercial phase were Blue Sparking Energy, REPTBattero Indonesia, Pioneer Aluminium Industries and XCMG Indonesia Manufacturing.
The planned facilities marked by groundbreaking ceremonies were Guangqing Nickel Cobalt, Eno Prima Material, Tinci Materials Indonesia, Weda Bay Aluminium, Bintang Karya Aluminium, Flat Solar Energy Indonesia and Guangqing Motor Indonesia.
